Mp3 - enough said,
this is the most popular audio format.
It was written in the mid 80's by Fraunhofer
IIS-A but did not catch on until 1997
when the home computer became powerful enough to play them. It was fine
tuned with the a cappela version of Toms Diner by Susan Vega. |
Wma - this is a
very popular format, but not as popular as mp3.
this codec was developed by Microsoft |
DivX Audio ;-) this
is not an official format. it was hacked from DivX 3.11
this codec is probably the the highest
compression available (next to ogg) i encoded a song at 20 Kbps in 22 kHz
stereo that sounded ok. This weeks download is available in DivX Audio
:-) so you can listen to it. there is no official DivX Audio ;-) Website
as far as i know. |
